Animal Reiki is just like people Reiki. Reiki is energy and energy is everywhere, in most things. I send Reiki to my plants in the spring and summer when I plant them (I do not have any indoor plants, my house kills them.) I infuse my drinking water, bath water, food, and crystals with Reiki, so animals just make sense. When I say animals, I mean all animals big and small, after all they are energy. They have the same chakras that people do, the meridians just run a bit different. How it works It works the same as people Reiki. The methods are very similar with one big exception. Normally, I go into a deeper meditation and stay there, inviting the animal’s spirit into my mental Reiki room. Just like people Reiki, distance is not a factor, so I do not even have to be in the same room. When I started doing distance Reiki, I used a teddy bear as a stand in for the person. My Maltese, Ellie, would come snuggle up between my body and the bears, demanding that she get Reiki as well. Ellie loved getting Reiki treatments. Now with her dementia, she does not like it and that is ok too. I used Reiki on my previous Yorkie, Kera, during her palliative care last year and during her crossing of the Rainbow Bridge. She always came to me as a puppy, playing and running. I knew she wished for that again and the only way I could do that was to let her go. It was selfish of me to keep the mostly blind, could not breathe, had dementia dog alive when she wanted to be that puppy. I think it is why Ellie does not want any Reiki. We are starting palliative care with her, and I do not think she wants to be reminded. There are no expectations during a session, Reiki flows where it needs to flow. I am just the conduit. The animal had to be calm or asleep when receiving Reiki when you invite them into the room otherwise their mind is too preoccupied to participate and be present. You may need to take your pet for a walk or plan a time when you know they are going to be feeling relaxed. If an animal is friendly and receptive, I may get a cuddle or pet, keeping my hands on them during the session. If they are skittish, they may need to sit with the owner. Some animals need to be in their own surroundings and that is ok. A phone or video call will work just as good. I can invite them to my mental room from wherever they are through my connection with the owner. Someone just needs to be near the animal to let me know if there are any changes or if they get up to play, etc. What to expect after This is a great question and varies greatly. If Reiki has worked on emotions and behavior balance out, if not you should consult a vet and/or behavior therapist as well. Do not expect miracles after one or two sessions, I am not a miracle worker, just the conduit between your pet and Reiki. Reiki is NOT a substitute for medical care or behavior modification, it is an extra tool to aid your pet for their highest good. Reiki in no matter the form, reason, or distance always works for everyone’s highest good. Love and Light Kim

Since plant energy is frequently overlooked, I thought I would tackle this topic as it relates to me and what I do. these are not to ingest, I am talking spell jars and medicine bags. Plant energy is one of the tools I use when putting together jars or bags. Please remember when doing this that we honor the plants, never should you over harvest wild plants. There is no reason to take more than you need. Also, I don’t believe in harming a tree, I take from the ground or the sap already there. Growing your own plants (considering you have space, time, a slightly green thumb) is a great way to connect with the energy of your plants. Use plants in your garden to manifest. Grow sage by your door for protection, dill to bring prosperity, lavender for peace, roses for love…..you get that idea. Always remember to plant with intention and send the intention into your plant as often as possible. You do this by just touching the plant or holding it for a few minutes, thinking of what that intention feels like. You can do the same inside your house. Put plants in strategic places to encourage the manifestation of your desire when possible. Use the energy of the plants to your advantage, it is literally why they are there. My go to is Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs and Llewellyn’s Complete Formulary of Magical Oils. There are herbs not in these books and not everyone has these books, so remember Google is your friend! There is a huge list of magical intentions at the back of the book, sometimes you have to think about the intention that also complements the intention you are working with. For example, when creating a bag for anxiety, I will include courage, happiness, healing, health, aid to manifestation, instill peace and harmony, protection (I include something in every bag or bottle I do, always better to be safe than sorry). Instill strength. I try and find an herb whose energy matches more than one if I do something like this sometimes or double the pinch I normally use. How much do you use?? As much as you want, it depends if you are doing a small medicine bag or a large jar. You can use a pinch or more, remember this is about intention most of all. Listen to your intuition, that will be more important than following a recipe exactly. Put your thoughts and intention into what you are doing, it makes it more powerful and personal. I will create more blogs as I create bottles and bags and post about them. If you have something you would like to see covered, send me a message, or put a comment below. Love and light Kim

note....this is a difficult subject! Yes i know, it is a sucky part of life but We all deal with it at some point in our life. Whether it is the loss of a loved one or pet, a significant change in your life like a stroke or other life altering diseases or injury, a relationship, job......we all grieve these things and they are real. I struggled to figure out whether to write about stones and herbs individually or for the intentions you set with them. I decided to break them down by the intentions. I am no stranger to grief…. My biggest loss was my 24 yr. old son in 2014, the 2nd biggest loss was in 2008 and that was me. Yes, you read it right, I had a massive stroke that left me with left side neglect which has completely changed my life. I had to grieve the loss of old me, she took a lot of abilities and traits that were defining for me. It completely changed what I am capable of physically and changed a lot of the relationships in my life. the 3rd biggest loss was our 13 year old yorki in the fall on 2021, that sent my whole house into a funk. The most requests are normally for grief, I am no stranger to the depths of grief. Grief is a tricky thing. The stages can vary which makes choosing just one stone or herb extremely difficult but honestly, I think tackling each stage as they arise a lot easier that looking at it as a whole. It takes a little more thought which sometimes you just can’t process if you are the one experiencing the grief so asking for help is a good thing, trust me. Always remember that stages vary, grief is a terrible friend who sometimes jumps around and that is ok. Grief is unique to each of us, we all do it differently and with the energetic help of plants and stones, maybe just maybe, it will ease a bit. ****Please note, this is intended for medicine bags and spell jars and bottles NOT to ingest. I am not going to go into extreme depth at this time about why I choose them, just the exact reason for this moment. I am hoping one day to have in depth blog of all but for now, overviews will save us time. First let’s look at stones that are useful the whole way through. Moonstone aids you in coping with the change in cycles, useful for those really fun mood swings, as you go from one stage to another. Lepidolite to help release the suffering and Cavansite’s energy is directed for loss. I was and am still really drawn to sodalite because it brings order and calmness to the mind. The first stage of grief is denial. The theory is that it helps minimize the overwhelming emotional pain the loss would create, almost like easing you into it. Rose quartz to turn the heart towards love, bathing you in healing frequencies and calm the mind. It can also aid you in receiving ad sharing love, compassion, and kindness. Amethyst for its overall healing abilities. See all the herbs at the end of this for all of the variations you can choose from. The second stage is pain and guilt, Dendritic Agate would be my choice. It assists one in overcoming the sources of guilt, resentment, envy, shame, blame and other self-destructive emotions. Anger and bargaining-that rose quartz and amethyst are going to come in extremely handy through these stages. Also, Jet for its ability to absorb negativity and process it into clean usable energy. Aquamarine to calm the anger, Danburite to help release the grief and anger, Larimar because it is a powerful emotional cleanser and healer (seems handy the whole way through maybe?) Then is that deep dark hole of depression. Eudialyte to overcome self-doubt, self-criticism, and self-depreciation. Lepidocrocite as a power emotional balancer and healer, gold to help more through difficult circumstances, bringing joy, excitement, and optimism. Ocean jasper to help maintain a centered emotional state. Common Opal soothes the emotional body and promotes a positive outlook, Pink Tourmaline to help find the strength in being vulnerable and heal the heart and Rubellite or Red Tourmaline to help you find the emotional strength to move out of any emotional hardship. whew that is an emotion that is so debilitating. Finally, you have acceptance and hope, so they say. Transparent Pink Calcite to assist in taking action toward the truth of one’s heart, Green Quartz to help you feel more nurturing and Alexandrite to bring the frequency of joy. Just a quick look at other stones that you may find useful, I am not going to repeat any stones stones Grief: Apache Tears, Danburite, Datolite, Morganite, Stillbite, Zoisite. I got these from Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs and the stone properties from The Book of Stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian Use the herbs from the grocery store, grow them, order online…how you get them is up to you. A lot of my stones, I get from vendors on Instagram that I felt drawn to, Etsy, my niece down south is excellent at sending me stones or when I leave our sleepy cold northern town I hit a rock shop in whatever town I am in. Grief isn’t easy, it is a very personal, unique journey. You can never do grief wrong and it is ok to talk to a professional, as a matter of fact, I encourage you to. If it is someone you know grieving, I get it, grief is uncomfortable BUT just be there. A year from now don’t stop talking to them because you think they should be over it. Everyone handles grief differently, you should always honor that Love and Light Kim

Where does the name Zanti Kamala come from? I knew from the beginning that I wanted the lotus blossom to represent what I do. The lotus blossom rises from the muddy waters with roots secured in the muck to produce a beautiful bloom. It resonated with me because my life has not been easy, and I try to rise out of the muck every time to bloom. The lotus is resilient, it rises out of the muddiest of waters to bloom which really symbolizes life as a stroke survivor and bereaved parent never mind the rest of life’s challenges. It reminds me that even on really bad days that it is possible to swing your legs over, put your feet on the floor and face the day hoping to feel the warmth of the sun on my face. It is also associated with the goddess Lakshmi, she is the goddess of wealth, fortune, love, beauty, joy, and prosperity. She typically stands or sits on a lotus pedestal, while holding a lotus in her hand, symbolizing fortune, self-knowledge, and spiritual liberation. There is so much more to her than this but when it comes to her association with the lotus, these are the main ideas. Kamala is the Sanskrit word for lotus. Zanti is pronounced Shanti actually, but it is easier to let people pronounce it as they are comfortable. This word has so much meaning! For me, the base of it represents the calmness and peace. As a Reiki practitioner and guided meditation teacher, this is a very important concept. It reminds me to keep myself grounded like the lotus is grounded and rise above (not always as easy as it sounds). It also has meaning of good fortune and felicity which is good for a business especially combined with the Goddess Lakshmi. The calmness, solace, tranquility are the components that really spoke to me though, the reminder is sometimes really needed. As a stroke survivor, sometimes this is a difficult task, but trying is the key. When you put them together with our motto of healing energy from the roots up, they all tie in so perfectly. I have always wanted to explain this in my own words, as plainly as possible. Without going into the whole stroke survivor, bereaved parent thing, they factor into my choice but are not the definition of my whole self. Love and Light Kim

DAILY AFFIRMATIONS I am open to loving positive experiences. I wake up each day knowing I will be the best version of myself. I am grateful and happy for the overwhelming abundance I experience in my life. I am grateful for all of my experiences, both good and bad, as I love the person they have created now. I let go of all that no longer serves me. My life is a gift and I appreciate everything I have. I choose to make my curses my blessings. I have the power to create change. I am blessed to have a wonderful family and friends. I am worthy of being loved as deeply and purely as I love. I am thankful for the opportunities that fill me with enthusiasm. I am more than good enough. I am a beautiful, glorious, unfinished work of art. I am Prous of the person I am becoming. I am excited to meet the future me living my best life. find more at the bottom of this page See my instagram for daily inspirations on both accounts. @zanti_kamala and @zANTI_KAMALA.VIRY These are just a few of the affirmations you will find in my house. I put them on the bathroom mirror, the fridge, above the coffee pot, just anywhere where I will see them frequently so I can read through them. Here is the thing, I read through them at least 3x each time and when I read them, I feel like I am living it. Sounds corny? Well for one it is called the law of attraction; the Law of Attraction dictates that whatever can be imagined and held in the mind's eye is achievable if you act on a plan to get to where you want to be. This is whether it is negative or positive, no one wants to attract negativity into their lives, which is why the affirmations are positive, worded like they are happening in the now and most importantly repeated daily, for me, I try for 3 times a day. I also try for my affirmations to match the new moon’s energy that month. So, if it is a good month to attract abundance, I tailor my affirmations to attract abundance. They don’t have to be long and wordy, your affirmation may just be “I am worth it” or if you like them longer “I am worthy of positive love, respect and abundance.” I read the best explanation in a book of how you attract what you think and how you feel. The book is called Energy strands by Denise Linn and for me it was a reinforcement of what I had already thought and expanded on it. I am going to paraphrase this part because it is long. She talks about a gentleman who always stated women are bad drivers. He said that almost every day he was cut off or almost hit by a female driver, it never occurred to him that by believing so strongly and stating it so often that he was attracting it. This is what the law of attraction and the law of cause and effect are all about. Why would you want to attract all that negativity and with that negative people? It is hard not to feel negative about some things and working on letting that go is a complete pain in the ass BUT worth it. Changing self-talk is hard!! I am not saying do it all at once, that is too much. Pick one thing each month, working with the moon energies if you want and throw out those positive affirmations. Remember to recite it EVERY DAY, multiple times a day and really feel it. Show the universe your positivity and what you want to attract so it can bring that into your life. Do you need help with putting them together? You will find millions on google and you can tailor them to your own thoughts and needs. I will try to put the ones I use every month here for you as well. I write different ones for my husband and will try to include those as well. What affirmation do you use most often I release my inner child to laugh, love and play. I am creative and ideas are flowing though me easily. My plans are moving forward and working out perfectly. I enjoy success in all of my ventures. I am strong. I am becoming more balanced every day. I am becoming more self aware. I am kind and gentle yet strong. I am improving my life. My wellbeing is my number one focus. I am more and more organized every day. I give wonderful service for wonderful pay. My wellbeing is my priority. I am getting myself on track. My opinion of myself is the most important opinion. I am manifesting all potential that aligns with my highest good. I invite abundance with a generous heart. My life is a gift and I appreciate everything I have. I am grateful for all of my experiences, both good and bad, as I love the person they have created now. I take this moment to release anything I am carrying that is too heavy for the moment.

Reiki is a form of energy healing that involves the transfer of qi, or universal energy, from the practitioner’s palms to their client. Hailing from Japan during the 1800s, Reiki can be used to treat a number of health conditions and emotional states but should never replace medical care or advice from a doctor. Anyone can benefit from Reiki, no matter how their health is or where they are in their life. Reiki can also assist those who are dying and preparing to leave this physical plane. Animals can greatly benefit as well, and Reiki can serve as a powerful healing process in-between veterinarian visits, especially since animals cannot communicate as effectively as humans. What can I expect from a Reiki session? In a typical session, the practitioner will place the client fully clothed in a quiet, uninterrupted space. In addition, a client can request a number of preferences, such as specific lighting or music. Reiki sessions can also be conducted from a distance, and require a similar but slightly different process, so it is fully up to the client to decide how they want to partake. I much prefer the sitting together with tea. Using light, non-invasive touch, practitioners place their hands on a series of locations over the body to begin the process of healing. In a distance session, practitioners instead use a photo of the client and used the process of visualization to conduct the session. The healing does not come from the touch—it is not a massage. Rather, the healing comes from the energy and heat the practitioner puts out with their hands during the session. The hearts of the practitioner and the receiver open, and the universal energy flows. It is important to note that the energy does not originate from the practitioner. Rather, the energy transmits through the practitioner into the receiver—the practitioner simply acts as a vessel out of which the energy is poured out of into the client. You may feel a variety of things during a session: warm, melty, tingly, sleepy, relaxed, loved. Comfortable. Safe. Rushes of energy. As if the weight of the world that rests on your shoulders gets carried into the hands of the practitioner. Feeling emotional during or afterward is common and completely natural. There is no right or wrong thing to feel during a session—all that matters is that the energy is going where it deems you need it the most. If the client does not experience anything eventful during the session, it is because the body decides what to balance and when. All the practitioner can do is pour the life energy into the client—the client’s body cannot be forced to accept the energy at that time. If this happens, that is okay, because it does not mean that the body is not healing. In a Reiki session, we always want to allow the body to work with the root cause of the imbalance rather than the symptoms. The underlying assumption with Reiki is that the body knows how to heal itself. Just as you generate new lungs every 6 weeks and a new liver every 5 months, your body is capable of creating a new and healthy you. Reiki energy helps the body release the energy that is preventing it from doing its job of maintaining balance. This is one of the things that makes Reiki so powerful—the practitioner does not diagnose or prescribe, but simply assists the body with its own natural healing process. This release of inhibiting energy induces shifts that occur solely on an energetic level at first but over time can have physical results as well. Remember that these shifts do not need to be accompanied by bells, whistles, and flashing lights to occur. Reiki energy can be very powerful and does not need to make its presence known while healing and supporting the receiver on all levels. -- Reiki energy is everywhere and in all things. It connects everything and has a consciousness that allows everything to be in a constant state of communication. This energy reflects in every aspect of our lives and gives us a guideline to face every day with. The guideline is reflected in the Reiki principles. Practitioners live by and utilize the Reiki principles in their way of life and way of healing. JUST FOR TODAY I WILL NOT WORRY. JUST FOR TODAY I WILL NOT BE ANGRY. JUST FOR TODAY I WILL DO MY WORK HONESTLY. JUST FOR TODAY I WILL GIVE THANKS FOR MY MANY BLESSINGS. JUST FOR TODAY I WILL BE KIND TO MY NEIGHBOR AND EVERY LIVING THING. By being aware and using this energy, practitioners can bring about a form of healing unachievable by pills and tonics. Please remember though that this should not replace medical advice or treatment. Always seek medical advice from a doctor.

Most people have no idea what to expect when they go into a reading. Every reader works differently including me. I prefer cold readings; I want to do the cards before you ask the question, the only thing sometimes I need to know is what type of reading you would like so I can determine the spread to use. I love being able to tell Spirit’s story to you before we talk about really anything. It always amazes how it really ends up relating to at least one of my client’s questions or looks at a completely different part of their lives that they weren’t expecting. If the reading is way off base, it usually relates to their lives later. If this happens, I always redo the cards with the client’s question in mind and hope for a different outcome. Sometimes that is the only message Spirit has for you. I also love doing email readings for just that reason, there is no other energy than theirs and mine influencing how the cards are laid. I also get what feels like a jolt of electricity going through my body when it is time to stop shuffling and pull cards. When I am typing out the information to the client, I clear my mind and do automatic typing. My fingers just type what Spirit has to sa I am also not a touchy, feely reader. I don’t sugarcoat things; I tell you exactly what I hear and sometimes Spirit has to say get your act together. Really there are so many spreads that you can use for all sorts of things. Sometimes I am called to do a reading a certain way, there are more cards pulled or a different spread all together. Sometimes even though I lay the cards a certain way, they tell me a more fluid story and the positions are meaningless. We can do just a general reading, that usually but not always uses the 10 card Celtic Cross spread. This usually ends up hitting the right nerve We can look in-depth at a situation, what might be affecting it, where changes could happen, etc., that usually ends up with a 13-card spread called Celtic Flowers. We could do a 7-card spread to look at 2 different paths for something you can’t quite decide on I love doing the Message from the Universe which is a 5-card spread. Most times if it is a reading about the love life, I default to an 8-card spread that provides insight into how your beau feels about you and the relationship. Once a year, I like doing a 13-card reading about lessons in the upcoming year. I also do a more comprehensive one called lessons and blessings which is 26 cards or lessons, blessings, and healing which you guessed it 39 cards. Honestly, this is so time consuming that I prefer that these be email only as they take a good hour if not longer. An astrological spread is again 13 cards and it looks at your upcoming year with each card representing a “house” and encompasses every facet of life such as finances, love life, spiritual, etc. The tree of life spread is 10 card tarot spread which examines all of the major factors surrounding your present situation. It looks at the spiritual, emotional, career, home, and family circumstances as well as your responsibilities. Will I find love tarot reading is used when you are seeking romance? If love is in the wings, the spread can point you in the right direction. If love isn’t in the immediate future, it can tell you what you need to know to change that. I love exploring new spreads, practicing with them if they feel right. Not all spreads are for everyone, this is not a one size fits all situation for me. Each client is unique, so each reading becomes unique in its needs. There may be more cards added for clarification, I may just sit and listen to all the things Spirit has to say, loved ones come through with their own messages, really for me anything can happen. Talk to the person doing your reading if you want to do some research and ask if you want a specific spread beforehand. Let the reader learn about spread and its nuances to see if it fits them. It may not and that is ok, every reader is unique as well.

Energy is everywhere, it is found in almost everything. Stones vibrate with intention and when cleansed and programmed can be beneficial in many situations. There are so many crystals and stones with so many uses but most stones have one main intention. Here, in blog posts, I am hoping to look at different stones and what they have to offer us in our everyday lives and how BUT first let us look at how to cleanse and program them. There are many ways to cleanse stones, you can use smoke while burning sage, the moon, running water, burying them in salt, soaking in salt water, the sun, sound, certain other stones (we will cover this) or learning to focus energy...rather like Reiki masters can cleanse and program or charge stones. Let us look at each one! Please, please though check to make sure the stone you are cleansing can withstand the element you are using. USING ENERGY By far for me the easiest is of course using energy by holding the stone, visualizing, and projecting a cleansing, bright white light (coming from the earth) removing the negative energy (back into the earth) from the stone until I feel the energy shift. After I feel the energy shift in the stone back to its pure state, I again visualize and project the energy I want the stone to focus projecting until I once again feel a much more subtle shift. The stone is then considered charged for the intention. If you are going to try this, please make sure you are well grounded. (Note to self, need to do a blog on grounding). This can be tedious if there are lots of stones (like my huge collection) if I want them charged a certain way but a bowl that just needs a good clearing is just as easy to cleanse. THE MOON By far, I love to harness the power of the full moon to do a huge master cleanse. This is the easiest in the winter, I open all curtains and make sure everything can be reached by moonlight. In the summer, I will drag some of my collection outside for direct moon love but only if it is not raining. This does not charge your stones for the intention you want but it gets rid of all that you do not. Honestly, any phase of the moon will help in a pinch, but the full moon packs the biggest punch. If possible, place right on Mother Earth so she can pull that negativity down to dissipate and please remember this is an all-night affair. THE SUN Who doesn’t like basking in the warm rays of the sun? Please make sure your stone won’t fade in the sun. Clear quartz can really heat up so be careful, this is not something you can do for long periods. SMOKE How do you use smoke to do lots of stones at one time? Easy solution…. netted laundry bag that you use for delicates or the reusable herb, fruit and vegetable bags work like a hot damn. Just put your crystals in the bag and carefully wave over the smoke of sage, palo santo (whatever you use to clear energy) for 30-60 seconds. RUNNING WATER OR SALT WATER Please, please make sure your crystal can withstand contact with water, this is the most important step as certain crystals will crumble, crack or release toxins. If your stone can withstand water, then a stream is best to use (pull out that netted bag) but the tap will do. If you are doing it this way, a good minute should do the trick. If you are submersing in salt water (again sea water would be best but tap water with a little sea salt stirred in will work) then I always suggest a longer soak like 8 hours and then pour the water down the drain and give the crystals a quick rinse. BURYING IN SALT, BROWN RICE OR THE EARTH Again, make sure your crystals won’t react with the salt if you are using sea salt to bury them in. If you are good to go then if you have quite a few get out that bag again and bury them in whatever medium you choose. Make sure to dispose of salt or the rice in the trash if you can give the earth back to the earth. Some people will bury a stone in their potted plant if it is one or two then just give them a quick clean and you are ready to go. I usually recommend a good 8-24 hours and remember whatever you buried your crystals in has absorbed that negativity so get rid of it!!! Side note, I have also used sand from the Carcross Desert (smallest desert on the earth) SOUND My favorite way, not going to lie. I love playing with my singing bowls but that is for another day. Did you hear about the study of how a whole bunch of people chanting at a shrine really raised the vibration of energy around them? So, humming that mantra, a bell, drum, your singing bowl will all raise the vibration around vibrating the negativity right out. You don’t even need your netted bag for this one, but it will take you about 5-10 minutes. OTHER STONES Using large quartz clusters, amethyst geodes or slabs of selenite are thought to vibrate at higher frequencies removing any energy that shouldn’t be there. You can also put a handful or so of carnelian, hematite or clear quartz in a bowl placing the stone you want to cleanse on top. This is a good 24-hour process either way you go. SIDE NOTES I always err on the side of caution using the full moon, sound, or energy to cleanse my stones and in a pinch the sand, but it is a pain to try and get sand out of some weaves of a necklace. But Google is your friend! If you want to use one of the other methods, then just google the type of stone and you will find out quick and easy. Every necklace I send out is cleansed and the intention of it working for your highest good is set, but long shipping processes with lots of cranky postal workers will eat that up sometimes so always check in with your stone. Whew…. was this long for anyone else? I get asked this all the time, so I thought this was perfect for our first topic.
